Wisconsin Society for Conservation Biology Student Chapter

Took place on 4/22/23. We went to the Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue & Education Center in Rock Springs, WI. We had a special morning feeding tour in which we got to watch the cats eat and learn about each individual and species.

Took place on 4/15/23. We volunteered at the Madison Children's Museum by facilitating two events related to the environment. One about freshwater organism identification and one about plant life cycle!

Took place on 2/27/23. Kelly Maguire from the Wisconsin State Game Farm came to talk about pheasant hunting and conservation work at the Game Farm. Check out our notes below!

Took place on 2/6/23. We had exec board introductions, learned about WSCB's goals and events, and painted ceramic flower pots together!

Took place on 12/06/22. We got together to watch David Attenborough's "A Life on Our Planet" and enjoyed hot cocoa and popcorn.

Took place on 11/30/22. We collaborated with Hoofer SCUBA club and presented about scuba diving's ties to conservation as well as how to get certified locally. Check out the notes to view our presentation.

Took place on 11/10/22. With the help of the Wisconsin Experience Grant, we hosted our first ever Conservation Careers Informational panel, featuring 7 panelists in different areas of conservation work. 

Took place one 10/25/22. We collaborated with Art Club and provided members with pumpkins and paint, and painted Halloween pumpkins together!

Took place on 10/15/22. We took a guided tour of the ICF and learned about all 15 crane species. Check out pictures below!

Took place 10/2/22. WSCB collaborated with WUD Alternative Breaks to clean up litter around Camp Randall and surrounding areas after a football game.
